Agra: The long-awaited opening of the most ambitious project of the Mayawati government, the Rs.12,000-crore mega- Expressway that would reduce traveling time from Agra to Greater Noida to 90 minutes, may now be on the cards as officials indicated it could be "green-signaled within a week or ten days."

The present state of river Yamuna from Delhi to Agra, a distance of roughly 250 kms, is alarming. Described now as a huge sewage canal, its water is unfit for human consumption. It can not even support bacteria or aqua life.
