Mathura: The Minister of State KJ Alphons has said that Govardhan Teerth of Mathura needs to be made into a world-class destination and the Govardhan Maharaj Utsav shall be organized in October every year.

Mathura: Expressing concern at large scale disappearance of green cover in the Sri Krishna land (Braj Bhoomi), Hema Malini, the local MP, said "the local flora and fauna was under threat and those concerned with preserving forests and ecology had shown little interest in preventing loss of green cover."

Vrindavan: In a petition filed by environmentalist Madhu Mangal Shukla charging  the local administration with neglecting solid waste management and failing to provide land-fill site, the National Green Tribunal has asked a 'commissioner' to visit the holy town without advance notice and submit reports with photos after physically verifying facts.

Mathura / Vrindavan: After the attack on the Nepali Bhajan Ashram by claimants to the land, volunteers have come forth in great numbers to help rebuild. Many sants from different institutions as well as local residents have been helping to get the ashram rebuilt. Work is going on both day and night.
