Agra: Social activists and environmentalists at a meeting demanded the immediate shifting of petha (a local sweet made of gourd) units from the heart of Agra in Uttar Pradesh to the new site called Petha Nagri in Kalindi Vihar.

A day-long conference of concerned senior citizens, alarmed by the deteriorating civic infrastructure in the city, demanded a people's movement against corrupt and inefficient officials of the municipal corporation and the Development Authority whose continued negligence and apathy had reduced Agra to a civilisational sink.
