Talking to Agratoday.in, producer Rajesh Jain whose film I am won the National Award, said he
got an opportunity to become a co-producer through Facebook. Jain said 'the purpose of low-budget film makers is to look for new ideas and make them reach out to the people. These film makers are passionate about what they do and the social media is a platform which helps them connect to the outside world.'
Rajesh Jain said that there have been many recent examples where people have managed to
get funding through Facebook as a medium and Anurag Kashyap is one of them. Director Onir has been involved in this too and there are many aspiring director-producers who are trying to fund their films through Facebook and Twitter.
Crowd funding is a new phenomenon which would be used in film production in the coming future. Rajesh Jain, who is in the handicrafts’ export industry, is producing a new film ‘Blue Mountain’ starring Gracy Singh, Ranveer Shoury and Rajpal Yadav. The film will be directed by Suman Ganguly.
