Relief from scorching heat as Agra hit by heavy rain

Agra: In a dramatic turn of events, the weather in Agra shifted dramatically from scorching heat to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

The city, which had been sweltering in high temperatures for the past few days, welcomed the sudden downpour as a much-needed respite.

People rejoiced as raindrops fell on the hot roads, bringing a refreshing change to the otherwise unbearable conditions.

It has been an exceptionally long dry and hot spell, with temperatures in the past few weeks havering above 45 degrees Celsius.

The number of tourists fainting or catching a heat stroke in the Taj Mahal was also at a record high this summer.
