The union ministry of communications and IT has allotted 90.4 MHz frequency to the upcoming radio broadcast channel.

In a short span of just seven years since its inception, it is a unique achievement for the University, says Brig. (Dr.) Surjit Pabla, Vice-Chancellor. 'Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mangalayatan University has been pursuing this initiative for the last three years and recently, the ministry has allotted the frequency', he informed.

'This community radio will be available in 15 Km radius. A survey by the University concluded that nearly 40 villages with over one lakh population, including Iglas and Beswan will benefit from FM radio', said Registrar Cdr. (Retd.) Manjeet Singh.
