A special screening of prize winning documentary film based on her life ‘Tabassum’ was also organized at this occasion. MU handed over prize money of Rs.15,000 to the real character of film.
Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, MU celebrated 3 Day (17-19 April, 2012) Annual Fest ‘Kshitij-2012’. On second day, a special screening of documentary film ‘Tabassum’ organized at University campus.
Film is based on a story of hard worker woman Tabassum from a traditional family. Tabassum, a mother of six children, faced many social and economic problems due to her troubled marriage life and house hold affairs.
Her story from a victim of situations to a motivator of literacy and family planning campaign in her region was beautifully woven around certain situations. Scripted by Prof. HemantAgrawal, Head, IJMC and Directed by Jitendra Singh got enormous appreciation from critics. Film won two prizes in two Film Festivals, one in ‘Filmsaaz’ by Aligarh Muslim University and another from Manav Rachana University, Haryana.
While inaugurating the special screening of the film, Prof. SC Jain, Vice-Chancellor, MU praised Tabassum for her courageous life. He called students to learn from the life of Tabassum.
Students enthusiastically participated in two other events-Anchor Hunt and Movie Mania. Closing ceremony of ‘Kshitij-2012’ will be organized on 19 April with prize distribution of different activities.
