LeT Terrorist Nabbed, Wanted In Year 2000 Bus Blast

He was brought to Agra's Police Lines later in the day.

DIG Agra range Deepesh Junjeja told mediapersons that Yusuf Mohammed had been to Pakistan five to six times for training and is an active member of Lashkare Taiba.

Police said Yusuf was living in Nuh village for past few months. On a tip from an informer a plan was drawn up to arrest him with help from local police.

Yusuf's plan was to blast the Agra Roadways bus stand near the world heritage site Agra Fort in March 2000, for which he carried out a rehearsal, planting a bomb in a roadways bus with a timer which exploded at Peeli Pokhar near Khandauli on March 18, 2000. A police source however said it was not a rehearsal. "The bomb for some reasons exploded ten kms before its target."

Police said some fake passports have been recovered from Yusuf who has been brought to Agra. Agra police which claimed his arrest a major success said a team was after him for past several months. The police is also investigating on what basis the gram pradhan of Nuh village had given in writing that Yusuf was dead.

DIG Juneja said Yusuf had several close relatives in Pakistan and one of them had got him introduced to Arif, closely connected with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
