{/googleAds} The Global Peace Yatra 2012, ended at Kathmandu where an international peace conference was organized with a dozen high level delegates. The Yatra which started from Lucknow had representatives from 15 NGOs including Bhartiyam Science Society, Prabudh Bharat Sangh, Darsh Sewa Sansthan.
Young activists were keen on knowing how to secure their environment and achieve the goal of balanced development that took care of nature and ensured diffused prosperity.
Talking to Agratoday.in, Satyendra Tripathi, Convener of the Global Peace Yatra, said "we have to look for environment-based development. We have to go for Grass Environmental Product (GEP) in place of Gross domestic Product (GDP) for development indices. We can’t have balanced development without stopping farmers’ suicide, health indexes and many more. We have to focus on environmental conservation polices and co-benefit polices to see the development.
Also, all are agreed on making SARRC- Youth Forum on Sustainable Development and Peace, a platform to achieve these goals. We have elected Dr. Sourabh Kumar Sinha as first Chairman of forum.
Global Peace Yatra delegation contains Prof. Arun Kumar Lenka, Sudhanshu Shekahar Tripathy, Executive Director, in addition to Orissa's Jagdish Panigrahi, Ranjit Singh Rathore, IT Consultant, Dr. Sourabh Kumar Sinha, Shuja Gandhi from India, Santosh Shah, Santosh Bidari, Sunil KC, Lalith Shahi, Bikesh Sristha, Gaurav Kandel, and others from Nepal.
The Yatra reached on 20th September 2012 to Kabir Chaura, Sant Kabir Nagar Uttar Pradesh and finished its first phase with blessing of Kabir and Mahant of Ashram."
