Washington: Olympics officials already contending with the illegal use of steroids among athletes are now being proactive about a potential new trend in performance enhancement: gene doping. Although tests for this type of cheating won't be performed until after the Games, the results could still mean bad news for implicated athletes. 

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the ‘RUN FOR RIO’ from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium amidst Olympic spirit and cheers to celebrate the Olympic mood in the country. Thousands of school children and youth participated in the 5Km run to demonstrate to RIO bound Indian athletes that the whole country is proud of them and wishes them all the best in the forthcoming competitions. Guwahati: It was an evening of mixed emotions and sombreness as the curtains came down on the 12th South Asian Games 2016 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati Tuesday evening.

Guwahati: Indian Archery team won all the five gold medals in the recurve event at 12th South Asian Games in Shillong. India also begs two silver medals in individual categories of Men and Women. 

Guwahati: In the third day of the 12th SAG, India maintained its top position in the medals tally with 24 Gold medals. Sri Lanka captured six gold medals while Pakistan with two gold stands third in the medal tally. Sri Lankan swimmer Matthew Abeysinghe won two gold medals. 

Guwahati: The 2nd day of the 12th South Asian Games saw the dominance of India in most of the sporting events. Cyclists won medals on 2nd day. At the time of filing the report, the host nation sits at the top of the medals tally with 14 Gold medals and five silver followed by Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
