The Rangoli was opened for public later.
Talking to Agratoday.in Praveeen Agarwal, secretary of the Indian Career Welfare Society which had organized the show, said "the Rangoli was made on a 12,000 sq feet ground, using 13 quintals of colored gulal, red, yellow, green, black. We also used white marble powder."
Praveen a Microsoft certified IT specialist, wanted a message to be sent to the whole world about religious harmony through the Rangoli. "The figure we worked on harmoniously integrated religious symbols of all faiths, to convey the message that at the core all religions had a common theme and preached similar sermons."
Participants were trained for a week. Computer aided diagram and sketches helped the artists to work on 17 different blocks simultaneously. The figure was of a human face.
Praveen said while the artists were at work, all the gurus of different faiths had been invited on a stage to see history being made. "Through Face Book and Orkut interaction we invited participants from several cities across India," Praveen said.
The next step, organizers said was to get Guinness certificate for which work has been initiated, he added.
