Seminar On ‘Sources Of Medieval India’ Held At AMU

The event was presided over by Nawab Ibne Saeed Khan of Chhattari.

While presenting the Keynote address, Prof. Mukhia underlined the changing and widening aspects of history writing. He also emphasized that with these changes, the economic reductionism of Marxist history writing is increasingly appearing to be intellectually incapable of taking into account all these unfolding aspects of history writing. He familiarized the audience with a new field of history known as "History of Everyday life".

He insisted that interpretation of the sources, as well as perceptions about history, keep changing with the times. He advised the historians to get benefitted with various new approaches of history writing emerging from France and elsewhere.

Earlier, Chairman, Department of History and Coordinator, Prof. BL Bhadani welcomed the guests.

Prof. Shahabuddin Iraqi, Convener of the Seminar, introduced the theme and Prof. C. PS Chauhan, Dean, Faculty of Social Science proposed a vote of thank.
