Jamia Urdu Held Seminar On International Status Of Urdu Language

{/googleAds} Ahmed was speaking at a seminar, ‘Popularity of Urdu Language and Its Global Status’ organised by the Jamia Urdu Aligarh.

Anwar Dustmohammed, Secretary of Urdu Speaking Union in Mauritius said that the Urdu language should not be linked with one particular religion. He added that to develop and popularize Urdu language, a focused movement must be launched.

Earlier welcoming the guests, Farhat Ali Khan, OSD, Jamia Urdu Aligarh said with the passage of time, the Urdu language has taken over not only middle-east countries but Europe also.

Presiding over the seminar, Prof. Farhatulla Khan said that the positive role of Urdu language in our freedom struggle and achieving social unity are well documented in the history. He reminded that Indian films and even dramas and songs are incomplete without Urdu. Prof. Khan called upon people to provide Urdu education to their children.

Member AMU Court Prof. Humayun Murad said that the SP government of Uttar Pradesh had declared Urdu language as second language of the state. It must recognize and establish Urdu medium schools.
