‘Power, Instrumentation, Energy & Control’ Conference Organized At AMU


 

 Sohail Akhtar said India was also planning to produce more bio-fuels and electro vehicles to save petrol for other vital needs. Right now 35% of petrol-based fuels was used up by the transport sector.

 

 Earlier, Prof. Mohibullah, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering in his welcome address said that this department is among the oldest engineering departments in the country. It was established way back in 1935 and since then it has been providing quality education. The department has a strong research base.

 

 Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. SMA Rizvi said that the Electrical Energy forms the backbone of the structure of modern society. However, at present the Indian energy sector is faced with myriad challenges which need to be addressed by the intelligentsia.

 

 Prof. Ekram Husain, Principal, ZH College of Engineering and Technology said that the AMU Department of Electrical Engineering is playing a significant role in the enhancement of knowledge in view of the changed world scenario.

 

Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Conference highlighting the aim of the conference said that it would provide a forum to network, to share and discuss new researches and developments in emerging technological areas.

 

He said that the Conference has received more than hundred papers from various academic institutions spread all over the country.

 

Md. Rehan, Organizing Secretary of the Conference said that the Department of Electrical Engineering has sanctioned `1.13 crore under the FIST scheme of DST for strengthening the Power, Electronics, Drivers and Instrumentation laboratories.
