Sponsored by the LIC, the national meet opens Wednesday morning. For the next six days around 2000 matches would be played, according to the secretary of the UP Table Tennis Association.

TT players like Subhajit Saha, Satyan, Harmeet Desai, Puja Sahastrabuddhe, Manika Batra, Palomi Ghatak, Arjuna Awardee Mauma Das, Amal Raj would be seen in action.

Organising secretary Vijay Singh said the competitions in men and women categories will begin from November 7. The final is scheduled for November 10.

The venue Eklavya stadium in Agra Cantonment has been given a fresh look and decorated with lights to give a festive ambience. A dozen tables have been procured from the official supplier of TTFI.
