Speaking on the occasion, the President said he was very happy Sathyarthi received the Prize. He welcomed his gesture of presenting the medal and said the Nobel Prize medal will soon be kept on display in Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum. 

The President recalled that Dr. CV Raman in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech had also dedicated his award to the nation and seen the Prize as a recognition of the scientific talent of India. 

The President said this was an unusual gesture because most former winners of the Nobel Prize from India had kept their awards in their respective institutions, including Rabindra Nath Tagore, whose medal was housed in Viswa Bharati at Santiniketan. 

The President commended Satyarthi for the excellent work he was doing and urged him to continue his endeavours in this regard.
