A leftist thinker and author of several books, Sahu retired from the Bareilly edition of ‘Amar Ujala’ in 1994 and took to teaching at the Kanhaiya Lal Manik Lal Munshi Hindi Institute of Agra University. Earlier, he was associated with Hindi Daily ‘Sainik’.
Institute's registrar Chandra Kant Tripathi said: "Udit Sahu was known for his crisp editing and linguistic skills. He taught several generations of Hindi journalists."
Brij Khandelwal, editor, Agratoday.in, said, ‘Late Sahuji was a bundle of talents, humble and gracious always, soft spoken…, In editing principles, he would not tolerate a miss placed poorna viram aur a wrong word. He was a leftist and a great human being.
