Hundreds Walk For A Happy, Healthy Heart

The Punjab National Bank and several other groups supported the walk.

Shishir Bhagat, organizer of the walk told Agratoday.in: "people in the range of 35 to 45 years were becoming victims of strokes. This calls for an urgent review of our life-style patterns, work culture. A simple 30 minute brisk walk a day could ensure a degree of safety."

Scores of businessmen, medical practitioners, professionals and executives holding placards and banners joined the walk through Agra's life line MG Road.

The heart being the most crucial body organ, it was necessary to keep it healthy and in fit gear, said PNB regional manager S Bali.

Eat less than you need, sleep well, remain cheerful and stress-free, and spend sometime daily doing Yoga exercises. This is the mantra for fitness and a healthy heart, said Father John Ferriera, an acclaimed international Yoga guru, principal of St Peter's College, Agra, who is organizing a health Mela for the under privileged.

Father John told Agratoday.in, "for a whole Joy of Giving week we will have a health camp for the poor and the needy, with Agra's best medical practitioners giving the free consultations. Our boys have been going to various localities each day to persuade people to come for the camp if they had any health related problems. The project is called Upchaar and forms part of the Design for Change international contest."
