The Central Government earmarked close to ₹20 lakh crore on the expenditure head of the Budget for 2016-17. It would be safe to assume that for the financial year 2017-18, the total expenditure to be allocated by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would be between ₹22 lakh crore and ₹23 lakh crore.
