Reginald Massey, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, has written several books on South Asian subjects: classical music and dance, fiction, critical studies and cultural history and travel. His widely published poetry has been well received. He writes for leading papers such as The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph. Last year he was Writer in Residence at the UBS think tank at Wolfsberg Chateau, Switzerland.
He has held Visiting Professorships, including a stint at Himachal University.
He did his MA (English) from St. John’s College in 1959 (when Professor SP Sharma was the Head of Department and the Principal was Reverend PT Chandi). Massey taught at St. John’s for a short while before proceeding to the University of Lille in France to pursue a course in journalism. He now lives in Wales with his wife Jamila who was born in Shimla. Jamila is the senior most Asian actress in the United Kingdom.
