Fire Brigade engines were called to disperse the agitating party workers with water pipes, as an effigy of the UPA government was torched. This incensed the BJP workers who had several rounds of free for all with the police and the administrative officers.

Party spokesperson said the protest was also against Mayawati government decision to ban political parties from fighting local municipal elections in the state.
