On Monday the tiger mauled five youngsters. This has caused quite a panic and scare which forced authorities to close schools. The Engineering colleges on the Agra Mathura road, along the Keitham reserve forest, were in panic and students told to stay indoors.
Dr. RP Bharti, chief wild life officer of the Zone, told Agratoday.in a little while ago "we are closing in. The tiger has been localized. Officials and experts from the two states are on the job and we are confident it wont be too long before the animal is trapped."
An official from the Rajasthan Forest and Wild Life department told Agratoday.in, "We found pub marks early today near the Beri village, 25 kms from the national highway. Visibility being a problem because of the tall standing crops, we are taking all precautions and should very soon be able to catch the tiger."
Meanwhile, more police men reached the affected villages to help farmers in the dozens of villages on the Agra Mathura district borders. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. One kid was reported seriously injured, mauled by the tiger. He has been admitted to the Kamayani hospital in Agra.
Farmers told police they saw the animal near the toll post near Farah on the national highway at around 9pm.
RP Bharti said there was no doubt that the animal was a tiger which had probably lost his way.
