Setting a new record, half a dozen colleges had participated in this TCS campus recruitment drive in which total 307 students were selected and given offer letters by TCS. Of these, 250 offer letters have been bagged by the students (boys and girls) of The Sharda Group. The other 57 offers were grabbed by the students of Dayalbagh University, Agra and BIET, Jhansi. These students have been offered a handsome package of Rs.3.20 lakhs.

Against last year's 88, this year's steep hike in the number of students selected, is seen as a qualitative improvement in the academic standards of these institutions. A college official Abhishek Arun Gupta said "this three-fold growth in the placement number has become possible due to the overall training provided by the exclusively created ‘Training & Development’ department at SGI which focuses on the all-round grooming of the students in the four mentioned core areas, i.e. technical skills, domain knowledge, soft skills and attitude & personality development. The group also caters to the all-round development of its students through co-curricular activities, hobby clubs, industrial tours, and other corporate exposure programmes."

In a detailed feedback and discussion session with TCS HRs and Panels, it was mentioned by the HRs and experts that TCS wished to recruit 200 more SGI students which could have made the figure count to 450 for SGI but considering their recruitment drive across 350 more colleges in India where they need to consider 37,000 students, they had made a fair and proportionate share of 250 offers for SGI’s students. The colleges are hoping that the next year’s placement figure could grow by 50% 60%.

Mentioning feedbacks from the TCS HRs, the Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) students and the Information Technology (IT) students have done really well and grown in their problem solving skills and programming skills. The students of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) have a good knowledge of their subjects. The other branches students have done relatively well compared to previous years and have shown a very vibrant and positive outlook.
