Taj City Shut Down Against Fuel Price Increase


Monday being a weekly off-day, most markets in the city were close.

The Samajwadi Party activists disrupted bus movement at the ISBT, setting fire to used tyres to block movement on the national highway. They also damaged flower pots and furniture at the Income Tax office in the Commercial complex Sanjay Place. Police arrested more than 50 activists including former minister Ramji Lal Suman. They were later released.

The BJP workers halted the Shatabdi Express in the morning for about five minutes at the Agra Cantt. station, and groups moved around markets in the heart of the city urging shopkeepers to down shutters. Belanganj, Kinari Bazar, Hospital Road markets remained closed.

A procession led by MP Katheria moved around the city mobilizing support for the Bandh.
