Agra: Ahead of a new tourist season beginning mid–September, decks have been cleared for the revival of the much-awaited Light and Sound show at the historic Agra Fort. The state tourism office expected the show to resume on August 15.
The local tourism industry sees it as an exciting development as tourists will have something new to engage them in the evening, thus extending the night stay in hotels.
As all the mandatory NOCs have been secured the renowned Light and Sound show at Agra Fort is set to make a comeback starting soon, an ASI official said.
The company behind the production has initiated the trial phase for the much-anticipated show, bringing back a significant cultural attraction that has been inactive since 2019.
The show will feature the captivating voices of Harish Bhimani in Hindi and Kabir Bedi in English, adding a fresh dimension to the experience.
With an investment of eight crore rupees, the Light and Sound show is poised to once again illuminate the historic Agra Fort with its spectacular audio-visual narrative.
Around seven million tourists annually visit Agra, home to three world heritage monuments. Industry leaders have long been complaining of a lack of entertaining engagements in the evenings to hold back the tourists. The only high-profile show at the Kalakriti auditorium “Mohabbat the Taj” is also set to resume shows from mid-August.
