He has now been included in the specialized developers' team, gifted an Ipad, advanced version yet to be launched, and a $2200 coupon from the Apple company, plus an invite to participate in the June conference at San Francisco.
The company letter to him says, ‘Dear Rahul Agarwal, We're pleased that you have chosen to become part of the dynamic and diverse community innovating with Apple technologies. We will be very delightful to have a developer like you in our Apple Developer Community. As far as our technician tried to penetrate/jailbreak into your security system they gained no success. As it is successful we will release it in our WWDC 2012 for public update. You are cordially invited to visit our programme from 11th-15th June at WWDC Hall San Francisco.’
Talking to Agratoday.in the teenage IT wonder explained: ‘Program that I have developed for the Apple will prevent jail-breaking that led to exploitation of BIOS. The applications earlier were being hacked and offered free for downloading which meant a huge financial loss to the company. The apps cost one dollar to 100 depending on various factors. Apple was not able to stop this. With my program, Apple's applications will remain secure and whoever pays will get the opportunity to download. Their people had been able to go up to 32 bits, but I have developed 256 bits program which has been tested and found unbreakable by their engineers. This is unique and for the first time such a success has been recorded.’
Rahul, excited and elated says he would continue to work on cyber security systems in future. ‘No, I have not been assisted by anyone, self study through books I used to purchase and work on computer for countless nights.’ His family is in silver business.
Rahul, the frail-looking focused wonder kid of IT is right now the talk of the Taj city with many honors coming his way. At a glittering program, recently, he was publicly honored by the Agrawal Sabha.
Looking back he shares a bit of his disappointment with Agratoday.in, saying ‘had I known they would not be able to break my program, I would have asked for a better bargain than just a coupon and an Ipad. When I submitted the program, I wasn't really too sure. I thought those people there would be able to jail-break. But since I have signed an agreement I have no reason to complain. They are only being fair and following their policies’, Rahul adds by way of explanation.
Surely for the Apple Company it could be a real money-spinner, but for the kid all he got was peanuts. "It is not clear as yet who will pay for his trip to San Francisco if it comes about," he says.
