Mahabir Prasad (Wrestling), N. Lingappa (Athletics), G. Manoharan (Boxing), Gurcharan Singh Gogi (Judo) and Jose Jacob (Rowing) received Dronacharya Awards for year 2014.
While Abhishek Verma (Archery), Tintu Luka (Athletics), HN Girisha (Para-Athletics), V. Diju (Badminton), Geetu Anna Jose (Basketball), Jai Bhagwan (Boxing), R. Ashwin (Cricket), Anirban Lahiri (Golf), Mamta Pujari (Kabaddi), Saji Thomas (Rowing), Heena Sidhu (Shooting), Anaka Alankamony (Squash), Tom Joseph (Volleyball), Renu Bala Chanu (Weightlifting) and Sunil Kumar Rana (Wrestling) received Arjuna Awards for year 2014.
Dhyan Chand Awards for year 2014 were given to Gurmail Singh (Hockey), KP Thakkar (Swimming - Diving) and Zeeshan Ali for Tennis while Tenzing Norgay Awards for year 2013 were given to Subedar Jagat Singh and Passang Tenzing Sherpa for Land Adventure. Also, Surender Singh (Air Adventure) and Wing Commander (Retd.) Amit Chowdhury (Life Time Achievement) received the same award.
R. Ashwin, Arjuna Awardee cricketer, was not present during the Award Ceremony as he is presently in England taking part in One Day Internationals. He will be given award later by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs & Sports. Date is yet to be finalized.
