The success will definitely open up new opportunities for young talent. Broad Day is a sensitive tale of a rape case in a moving train. Five co-passengers including a journalist, an old deaf man, a couple and a businessman, out of fear choose to keep quiet and let the worst happen to a young girl. The fear has been beautifully brought out by the film maker Rajiv Ahuja who entered five short films. But Broad Day was selected the best film of the festival."
A local young director, physically disabled Rahul Tyagi focused on the water problem through his documentary Towards End, Dhakar added.
Sooraj Tiwari, the event organiser told Agratoday.in "we are trying to promote the whole of Braj Bhoomi as a film destination. It is through our efforts that at least half a dozen TV serials have been shot here including the latest hit on NDTV “Aiso Var Dhoondo”.
Agra has so many beautiful monuments with lush green lawns, the rugged terrain of Chambal, the romantic forests of Braj mandal, which provide excellent outdoor locations for film shooting. Tiwari said a concerted effort is now being made by local artistes, entrepreneurs and art lovers to venture into film making. Work has begun on new studios and very soon we will make a headway into this field. Bollywood's highly talented and sought sound engineer Satish Gupta has already opened shop here and is presently directing the 90 minute spectacle Mohabbat the Taj at the Kalakriti auditorium, he added.
