National Film Festival ‘Filmsaaz-11’ Held At AMU


 

Noted film producer and director Faruq Masudi, freelance producer and director, Subroto Sen Gupta and prominent old boy and director Fakhruz Zaman Khan inaugurated the film festival.

 

 Dr. Shakeel Samdani, Coordinator, General Education Centre said that around 30 short films and documentaries received from the local participants screened. 60 entries of national participants after short listing also screened on March 9, while the valedictory function conducted on the 10th of March.

 

The Convener, University Film Club, Adil Siddiqui said that around 40 local and 60 national entries received for the film festival. The movies are based on various major social issues. Siddiqui said that the students of Aligarh Muslim University are extremely enthusiastic for this event.

The judges of the film festival were Farrukh Masudi, Managing Director of Hoo Productions, Freelance Film Maker, Subroto and eminent Director, Farrukh Zaman. The chief guest of the event was Sudhir Mishra, Director of movies like ‘Chameli’, ‘Hazaron Khwahishen Aesi’ and recent release, ‘Ye Saali Zindagi’.
