A fleet of ten Indigo cars, complete with GPS and other amenities was flagged off at the state museum in Dampier Nagar recently.
The state government had decided to introduce radio taxi networks in 13 municipal corporations of UP.
The radio taxi network in Agra is being run by Saarthi Radio Cabs Private Ltd.
The chief minister said Agra was a prominent tourist centre and a facility of this nature was long overdue.
All the cabs have drivers' photos, licence numbers, address on the dashboards. For safety of women, the GPS system has been installed. All cabs are connected to the call centre 24x7, and the control room will keep a track of all the cabs.
The minimum charge will be ₹50 upto 2.5 kms. Thereafter it will be ₹20 per kilometre. Waiting charges would be ₹50 per hour.
