Among the direction of Dimpy Mishra and his team including Harshita Mishra, Dheeraj Mishra, Monika Jain, almost 2 scores (20) more young participants were also present who despite NOT being veteran theater artists performed their best and kept hold of their audience by the aura they created and felicitated Agra with a delight and hope that the beginning of an initiative to promote PERFORMING ARTS & CULTURE keep going and flourishing has been a grand success.
This theatrical drama was an effort to revive Theatre and Art at Agra considering that Agra has once remained a centre for culture and art since the old times and the various periods of reigns by Emperors and Kings.
Twenty-five days of hard-work and dedication got unveiled when this three weeks workshop concluded in the form of a program that was witnessed by a good audience and which kept them bonded to their seats with patience hearing and enjoyment of the wonderful show as if they have been captivated by the enactments of the characters of the play from “Ram” and “Sita”, “Lakshman” and party to the crooked “sethji” or the opportunist “Muslim seth” who searched for profit in every event and incident.
The drama showcased the story of organizing of “Ramleela” by the people of community who in need of money for organizing the called play had seek for help from the “Seth ji” Kalika Prasad and feel victim to his evil desires as he eyes the land which is in use of organizing the Ramleela play and wanted to get corrupt hold of it. He tactfully throws out the Muslim Artist “Bade Miyan” through his evil planning as he was endangered by “Bade Miyan’s” vision and thinking which might ruin his planning. This episode was picked up as an issue to get hold of an opportunity by the wicked Muslim Seth Ali Bahadur who wanted a share in the land.
They set fire to the homes of these poor people with a planning to make Hindus and Muslims fight amongst themselves in which they become successful. The fire and fight resulted in the death of one of the characters which was lamented by the poor people amidst the greedy and corrupt Hindu seth, Muslim set and the corrupt politician who in reward gave the patch of land to both of them because they had pretended that they had brought unity among the both community people. The evil plans made by them had come to a successful ending on account of the story at their side but WHAT ABOUT THE LIVES OF THOSE POOR PEOPLE and the sacrifice of one of them?
The same irony is witnessed by the common people everyday and there is no rescue thus making it clear that land and money has always been the only right of the strong and people with power and influence and others who are downtrodden and weak have always been used by the super powers as per their choice. The lower strata of the society have always been the victim of injustice and they have been living throughout their life in suppression while they try to bind religion and business and the society to earn their bread and butter.
Among the Chief Guests were present Hariom Dixit, Chairman of Gayatri Developers and Dr. AK Gupta, Director of HITM (formerly BMAS) Engineering College, Keetham – Agra.
