The Indian Contingent participating in this Championship among others included six players belonging to Indian Railways.

All the six Railway players gave an outstanding performance and won six medals for India. Railway players namely Matsa Santoshi, Punam Yadav, Sanjita Chanu, S. Satish Sivalingam won gold medals and S. Mirabai Chanu won silver medal, Minati Sethi won Bronze medal in their respective weight categories.
