Agra's district magistrate Amrit Abhijat told mediapersons that the violaters of the order would be booked under sections 144 and 133 of the IPC.
Ahead of the CWG, an exercise to spruce up and facelift the monuments is presently being undertaken by the city administration.
The Agra Municipal Corporation has launched an all out war against filth and garbage. Special teams have been put into service to clean up the drains and lift garbage dumps. The Taj Ganj area around the Taj Mahal has come in for special treatment. The Agra Development Authority is putting up new hoardings and signages for the convenience of the tourists at major crossings.
Meanwhile, the River police has launched its clean-up operation to punish those who pollute Yamuna. A team is keeping guard and has already punished more than 25 for dumping garbage and defecating along the river bank. SP city LR Ravi said the drive would continue to ensure that the river front is kept clean and dissuade people from further polluting the river.
The police has fined around 30 people under section 34 of the Police Act, so far.
