The skyline of the city became hazy as locals burst crackers and distributed sweets among neighbors.
For the past two weeks, Sparsh' s supporters had mobilised massive voting for him, especially after his visit to the city 10 days ago.
The 11-year-old boy, who specialises in folk, kathak and Bollywood dance forms, was declared the winner Saturday night.
"We had absolutely no doubt that Sparsh would be the winner as he is a versatile dancer and a keen learner," Rajeev Gupta, president of Lok Swar, a voluntary agency that been supporting Sparsh, told Agratoday.in.
This is the first time someone from Agra has won a reality show contest.
On earlier occasions, half-a-dozen contestants from the city reached the runners-up stage but the top position eluded all of them.
As Sparsh's name was announced, the Srivastav house was flooded with messages and visitors. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Deepak Khare was the first to congratulate the family.
