‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Completes 2000 Episodes…


The show recently secured a place in the Limca Book of records for the ‘Longest Running Comedy Show’. Produced by Neela Tele Films and created by Asit Kumar Modi, Managing Director, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is based on the column ‘Duniya Ne Oondha Chashma’ written by journalist and columnist Taarak Mehta for a weekly Gujarati magazine ‘Chitralekha’. 

Every story on the show is intricately woven with some amount of social messaging and moral values too. The episodes take the viewers through the journey of the residents of Gokuldham Society which is based in suburban Mumbai. The story follows the life of Jethalal Gada who has a knack of always landing himself into trouble which leads to hilarious situations. 

The cast of the show was also nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to propagate and create awareness for his brainchild ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’.
