“Employable Skills Development Training Program – 2012” has been a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative the Third Phase (Batch – 3) of which started from 20th April at Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI).

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest, Pradeep Kumar (Director –MSME Development Institute (DI), Agra), Rajesh Goyal (Chairman - IIA), Amar Mittal (President – Agra Iron Founders Association), Sameer Agarwal (Branch Manager - NSIC) and YK Gupta (Vice Chairman – Sharda Group) along with Prof. Dr. RC Maheshwari (Advisor – Corporate R&D) and Dr. Om Kumar Harsh (Director – Hindustan College).

Dr. Maheshwari said on the occasion that an electrician having the knowledge of AC repair and maintenance alone can earn up to Rs.25, 000/- per month. He also advised the students to set up self employment by opening their own workshop/businesses after gaining experience in industries for 2-3 yrs. But the major point of concern is that the unemployed youth/ the trained technicians should be willing to learn the skill and apply the same hands-on rather than waiting for a industry based regular job to work on machines.

The trained youth also shared their experiences and told about the changes they see in themselves through their employment along with their feedback and their willingness to propose the further programs to other unemployed youth and friends of their villages.
