Rs.1.3 Crores For Various Halls In AMU


 

 Prof. Azis said that the Information Communication Technology (ICT) has been revolutionized. He said that the Ministry of Communication has allotted `8 Crores to AMU to provide Wi-Fi connectivity in the campus and this dream became a reality within next few weeks. Prof. Azis further mentioned that we are planning for digital classrooms and all the departmental and college libraries will also be digitalized.

 

 Prof. Azis said that the Government of India is providing 150 crores funding for the two AMU Centres in Malappuram and Murshidabad. The University is providing job opportunities to our own products and 22 faculty members were appointed for the institutions of BALLB and MBA programmes in the two years, he added.

 

 While presenting the annual report, Dr. Nikhat Taj, Provost of Abdullah Hall said that today’s programme underlines the culmination of hall activities for the session 2011-12. The highpoint of all activities organized by the resident girls was the Hall Week– RESA, means the journey has continued and continues. She said that the best of our achievement this year is the construction and completion of the new reading room with a capacity for 240 students that has recently become functional.

Furthermore, twenty-five computers have been set up with the internet facility.

Prof. Nikhat Taj urged the Vice Chancellor to provide a 63 KVA generator, which would be connected to the Reading Room, Kitchen and Dispensary as well as operate the tube-well. She further said that in keeping with the need of the time and increasing demand of girls, a proposal has been drawn to provide the hall with the facility of Gym.

 

 Vice Chancellor, Prof. PK Abdul Azis presented trophies to New Hostel and The Upper House for their best performance in all activities.

 

 Earlier, Sadia Amber, Senior Hall of Abdullah Hall welcomed the dignitaries. Nishat Anjum, Senior Literary Secretary, Zainab Khan, Senior Sports Secretary and Iram Rehman, Senior Proctorial Monitor presented the report of their activities.

 

Dr. Ghazala Naheed, Deputy Provost proposed a vote of thank. The residents of Abdullah Hall also presented cultural programme on this occasion.
