This year, the Design for Change contest has spread to 35 countries and will infect 25 million children with the "I CAN" bug, fuelled by compassion, belief and a compelling sense of purpose.
AGRA PROGRAMME coordinator, Brij Khandelwal, informed that kits were being dispatched to schools in Agra and neighboring districts. The participating schools have to register by August 15. The activities will be organized in the Joy of Giving week, last week of September (24-30 September), and the final submission of reports will end on October 8. Winners will be announced on November 14, children's day.

In addition to 100 prizes, Disney will sponsor 20 top stories, while Amar Chitra Katha will give away exciting gift hampers to the top 100 winners. CNN-IBN will honor 10 DFC 2011 change leaders for their ground breaking ideas, as a special episode to be aired on children's day.

Last year, more than 30 Agra schools participated in the competition, but only St. Peter's College could reach the final.
"This year we expect better participation, particularly from smaller Hindi medium schools," Brij Khandelwal said.
