Sonu, 19, pulled out his pistol and shot himself on the heart after a brief chat with someone around 8.30 pm at the Paschimpuri crossing. SO Sikandra police station Surya Kant Dwedi said family members of the girl, her father Chand were being searched as they had absconded. In the afternoon, Sonu's beloved Faujiya alias Shilpi had hanged herself with a rope to end her life, colony residents told the police.

 Sonu left a detailed suicide note and held a picture of the girl in his hand as he shot himself after getting off from his mobike to talk on his cell phone. In the note he professed his love for Faujiya, daughter of Chand, and said she too loved him intensely but the family members were dead opposed and were sending threats and people to scare him to end the relationship. But he refused to cow down to pressure.

 He said his family members had been beaten and threatened with dire consequences. He wrote that their relationship and intense love for each other could be seen from the details in his mobile phone and the messages he had received from her. He asked for punishment for his beloved's family members.

 Shopkeepers and bystanders sent Sonu to the emergency ward of the SN Medical College where doctors declared him dead.

Police said the family members of Faujiya had disappeared with the body of the girl. Police was looking for them and some relatives had been questioned. Some said the girl had hanged herself, others said she had consumed poison. "Truth would be known only when we get the body," police said.

Neighbors said the girl had been taken to a private nursing home where she collapsed and from there the family with the body did not return home.
