They are not taking any decision one way or the other, nor developing alternatives.
This has not only deprived the ordinary passengers traveling through Agra to buy the pride and pahchaan of the Taj city, the Petha, which is a major cottage industry, but also hurting the industry, that has more than 400 units and employing thousands of people.
Any decision has to be in a time bound manner. One can not go on postponing decisions indefinitely, whatever the nature of the dispute.
Braj Mandal Heritage Conservation Society demands immediate lifting of the ban. The local self help groups registered with the CDO and other agencies, women's groups, and other agencies should be permitted to sell petha on stations, under strict supervision.
The DRM must be asked to take urgent steps and come out with a strategy in a given time frame. If there are constraints of any nature, these should be shared with the public.
