Earlier, in a criminal defamation case filed by Nitin Gadkari in Patiala House Court, summon was issued to Kejriwal to remain present on Monday. Gadkari has alleged that Kejriwal is in the habit of making false, malicious and defamatory statements only to gain cheap publicity and gain political mileage.

Kejriwal had on January 31 produced a fabricated list of corrupt politicians including Gadkari as one of the corrupt politicians. The statement was made only to defame and tarnish the image of Gadkari who has an impeccable image in the eyes of people at large. Ashutosh, Spokesperson of AAP also repeated the false statement and also falsely stated that Gadkari had sent a notice to BJP.
