The very pristine and sweet essence of those Basil leaves of Vrindavan inspired countless great saints, poets and incarnations to come here, countless numbers of people come here from each corner of India. Its soil has inspired not only the people from the country but foreigner Krishna devotees too.
In the era, when its honor became extinct with its originality and importance to the era by fading in depth of history, in that time, when Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu the great devotee of Shri Krishna came here for the first time, he was overwhelmed and was drawn by that invisible bond and re-discovered the ancient form of Vrindavan which was woven in each one particle by the name of Shri Radha-Krishna.
This name of Krishna is not bound to any timeline which may be forgotten or stagnated with elapse of some time but it may possibly be the part of the conspiracy of some mindless people.
But to remove the name of that perpetual and infinite Krishna is out of anyone’s capacity. It appears that God has forgotten his powers as Hanuman did with his powers.
Ancient idols used to be smuggled out of Vrindavan and still continuing in well planned manner. Nowadays its different form is seen as a very extensive conspiracy of destructing historic form of Vrindavan. External forces are also part of this. By forgetting his powers, the beloved lord of Vrindavan empowered with many miracles, may become symbol of Indian culture in the homes of foreigners but may be not becoming centre of worship or praise. These unique idols are valued in millions. Mere the idol of stone or wood may not have such value but it is the value of devotion of those millions of devotees who have worshiped with their selfless love. These residents of ‘Brij’ can only save Vrindavan by revoking the forgotten power in this last leg (Kaliyug) of current cyclic era of creation.
The name of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is chanted in every home of Bengal whether east or west. Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu extended the name of Shri Krishna same as the life in a human in every home of Bengal more than the Vrindavan itself. By following the way shown by Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, widowers and helpless women from Bengal overwhelmed with selfless love for Shri Krishna, bowing on the name of Vrindavan and with felling blessing on their life they use to be eager to come here, but when they arrive here they afraid, with the hair-raising realization, if it is was the same Vrindavan rediscovered by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
In search of the very same Vrindavan rediscovered by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, many women having been spent numbers of valuable years of their life, still continue to search the very same Vrindavan. Having reached here at an age of 10-15 years, these disowned widows have become old and helpless after loss of their youth and energy, today these women don’t have shelter and safety. When they came to Vrindavan, these women had house on rent for half or one rupee a month.
It is proven that Vrindavan was mainly the ownership of seven temples and most of them were related to Bengalese. That time, Madan Mohan Ji, Gobind Dev Ji, Radha Damodar Ji, Shyam Sunder Ji, Radha Raman Ji, Gopi Nath Ji and Gokulanand Ji were the seven main temples. Most of the properties of Vrindavan were owned by Madan Mohan Ji and Shri Gobind Dev Ji. It is said that devotees of these temples, wealthy and renowned Kings and people had built huge buildings for residing in Vrindavan for some time out of their lives. Some of these wealthy and renowned people had donated their properties to the temples, and with these properties the temples had acquired huge immovable wealth.
Once known for their wealth, the condition of these temples have become miserable, where the widows and disowned women had spent their life in cells of these temples economically and with ease beyond their imagination. Becoming homeless these days they are feared of the imagination of their final stage of life through this period of uncertainty. The custodian priests of these temples have started destructing the history of these temples by selling the properties to land mafia at astronomical prices. Whether these temples are devoid of money for their maintenance or it is the greed of the custodian to sell the properties of the temples for want of their own luxurious life.
From legal procedural perception, none of the properties of the temples can neither be sold nor rented on lease without the approval of the commissioner of the Agra division as per the ‘Hindu Devatva Sampatti Adhinium’ (Hindu Temples’ Properties Ordinance). In spite of this how and under whose protection the custodian priests are selling the properties of the temples to land mafia and land dealers. Is it the silent approval of the administration or the land mafia has such a outreach that administration and government are silently up for destruction of the history of Vrindavan. The attention of the residents of Brij has not drawn on this, if Vrindavan loses its historical significance then who will be coming to Vrindavan to see the flats and villas instead of the temples.
Nobody minds the development but definitely will dislike if it is planned to deform the culture of that place by its destruction. These days, the flat culture which has started in Vrindavan, for that the existence of creepers-leaves, ponds-lakes, gardens-nurseries and groves-arbours has been destroyed in Vrindavan. And the competition has begun with the five star culture of Delhi, which is even more deformed. These days high rise buildings have arisen in Vrindavan. Business of vehicle parking is going on beneath these buildings, multi-storied buildings have the all the facilities and luxury of boarding, lodging, dine and drink, the business of promoting visitors splurge is flourishing by building guest houses. Amidst of this competition the trading rates of land is rising exponentially. Fraudulent cases are filed in the courts, stay-order is taken by misleading, while some one else being the owner of any land. By the time the owner gets information of this, the land gets sold to the hands of influential people or it is occupied forcefully. In such type of incidents there remains the indirect consent of police also.
Exodus of people running away from luxury is taking place similarly as foreigner people running away from materialism have been getting peace and joy in India. Such people, running away from luxury, are trying to become religious by visiting Vrindavan during Saturdays and Sundays. Some of these people have started buying land by making their mind to have their permanent residence in Vrindavan. Following this other local small mediators have also started this business of trading disputed lands and houses.
Now situation is such that whosoever is getting land anywhere, is building flats there. The trend of trade of lands for building multi-storied apartments and flats is not very old. Firstly the establishment of ISKCON temple on Raman Reti Road had caused the fast rise of the cost of lands and houses in this region. These days the cost of each square yard of land is between twenty to fifty thousands of rupees which are higher when compared to many places in Delhi.
