AMU Students Demand Release Of Muslim Youth

Talking to Agratoday.in the secretary Syed A. Rahim said after Hyderabad, Ajmer, Malegaon, Samjhauta Express blasts ‘innocent’ Muslim youths were held and have been detained without any further movement in the investigations or the judicial process.

He said Swami Aseemanand has now disclosed before the CBI under section 164 that there was a pattern to malign the minority through these blasts. "It is clear that the Muslim youths were picked up as part of the Hindutva organizations' conspiracy to malign them," he added.

Therefore, it stands to reason that those detained without proof and basis should immediately be released, the memorandum demands.

The memorandum reminds UPA chief that India was committed to constitutional provisions to protect the minorities.

Rehan Akhtar, president of the movement and others have urged the government to either order a speedy trial to nail the truth or release the innocents forthwith.

A national symposium would soon be organized in the campus to focus attention on this issue, secretary of the organization said.
