She hoped there would be an early up-gradation of these ultra small branches into regular full-fledged branches on achieving the required business growth, so that all the products offered by our Bank may be available to all.
Bhargava informed that the Canara Bank was serving all sections of the society, mainly poor, down trodden and weaker section through various initiatives by a network of 3600 branches of which 1007 are in rural and 1019 in semi-urban areas across the country.
During last year Canara Bank opened 342 branches out of which 167 were Financial Inclusion Branches. Canara Bank is planning to open 200 more Ultra Small Branches during the year.
In Uttar Pradesh, Canara Bank is having network of 301 branches, out of which 95 are in rural and 73 in semi-urban areas and 133 branches at Urban and Metro Centers.
Shreyas Gramin Bank is RRB sponsored by Canara Bank in Uttar Pradesh. Canara Bank is serving 8 districts of Uttar Pradesh through its 223 branches.
She also launched two new campaigns of Canara bank i.e. (1) Providing one account for each household in rural and semi-urban areas (2) Special campaign for opening accounts of migrant laborers, street vendors and hawkers in urban areas.
On this occasion she disbursed the loans sanctioned by Canara Bank and Shreyas Gramin Bank to the beneficiaries under various schemes i.e. KCC, SHG, JLG, MCG/DRI and other Govt. sponsored schemes.
